[Editor's Comment: I have known "Slick" Horsley for a number of years. Whenever the people of the church were asked to come to the altar for prayer "Slick" went down to pray. I have prayed beside him and talked with him about his involvement in the invasion of Normany, one of the greatest battles during World War II. I consider Mr. Horsley a Great American and a Patriot. His bravery and courage in serving our country are inspiring to us all. I know that he loved Jesus.
To his wonderful family Melvine and I send our prayers, love, and sympathy in your hour of grief and sorrow.
The Draper Pentecostal Holiness Church is Melvine's home church. It is where we were married on August 13,1960. Daneel le Roux was my best man. He is the man who introduced me to Melvine. Daneel married Betty Von Moore, the next door neighbor to Melvine and her family. They now reside in Greenville, NC. The Draper Church is a great family church in the wonderful land of Eden, NC. Jonathan Todd serves as the pastor of this great church in the Cornerstone Conference (formerly Western North Carolina Conference.]
